Julius Meinl Opens First Coffeehouse in Russia

In April 2008, Julius Meinl opened its first premium coffeehouse in Moscow.

The new Julius Meinl coffeehouse located at 38/1 Myasnitskaya Ulitsa, bridges traditional values with modern culture through its menu featuring authentic Viennese cuisine and experienced personnel preparing and serving the finest-quality coffee. With the opening of the Austrian establishment in collaboration with local franchiser Lilia Smirnova, Julius Meinl becomes an ambassador for Viennese coffeehouse culture in Russia, and particularly in Moscow - one of the most prospering and exciting cities worldwide. Now Russian coffee admirers have the opportunity to experience the charm of a Viennese coffeehouse without leaving Moscow.

Russia is an important growth market for Julius Meinl, as Russian consumers are increasingly turning to premium products for everyday enjoyment. In expanding into Russia, Julius Meinl pursued an initial focus on attracting high-end customers in the hotel, restaurant and café (HoReCa) segment. The opening of the first coffeehouse in Moscow represents the next stage in Julius Meinl’s substantial growth on the local market.
